Selective Test Prep Course

  • The Selective Preparation Course equips Year 6 students for the Selective High School Placement Test, developing high-level skills in Reading, Writing, Mathematical Reasoning, and Thinking Skills.

    Lessons are data-driven and exam-focused, designed to enhance both concept mastery and time management.

    Weekly Lesson (120 mins):

    • Reading (30 mins): Analytical comprehension, inference, synthesis

    • Mathematical Reasoning (30 mins): Multi-step and non-routine problem solving

    • Thinking Skills (30 mins): Logical reasoning, argument analysis, spatial patterns

    • Writing (30 mins): Timed persuasive or imaginative writing with feedback

    Homework (90–120 mins/week):

    • Mixed question drills, reading sets, and one writing task

    • Teacher-marked writing feedback aligned with rubric standards

    Mocks and Reports:

    • 3–5 full computer-based mock tests with analytics

    • Writing rubric tracking and improvement graph

    • Weekly progress reports and parental consultation

  • Term 1: Diagnostic assessment and skill foundations
    Term 2: Intermediate question types and time-bound strategy
    Term 3: Full-length mock exams and targeted skill clinics
