This comprehensive Year 12 English Advanced program follows the NESA HSC syllabus, encompassing all four key modules:
Common Module: Texts and Human Experiences
Module A: Textual Conversations
Module B: Critical Study of Literature
Module C: The Craft of Writing
Each module is designed to balance deep literary analysis with practical writing development. Lessons move through three consistent stages — Deconstructing the Module and Texts, Composing, Editing, and Consolidating, and Testing and Developing Exam Skills — ensuring students master both conceptual understanding and examination technique.

Across the four modules, students will:
Common Module – Texts and Human Experiences
Explore how human experience is constructed through language, form, and structure. Analyse themes such as identity, conformity, and cultural understanding across texts like Nineteen Eighty-Four, The Merchant of Venice, and The Crucible.
Module A – Textual Conversations
Study paired texts to identify resonances and dissonances, examining how context and perspective shape meaning. Develop comparative essays that balance nuanced argumentation and sophisticated analysis (e.g. King Richard III with Looking for Richard).
Module B – Critical Study of Literature
Conduct sustained analysis of a single prescribed text, exploring aesthetic value, cultural context, and critical interpretation. Hone evaluative writing through extended responses (e.g. Great Expectations, A Doll’s House).
Module C – The Craft of Writing
Refine your voice through creative, discursive, persuasive, and reflective compositions. Engage with model texts and iterative drafting to develop originality, precision, and flair under exam conditions.
