Max Ma graduated from James Ruse Agricultural High School with an ATAR of 99.90, including 95 in English Advanced, 99 in Mathematics Extension 1 and 97 in Mathematics Extension 2. He is now studying Medicine at UNSW. He also holds a perfect score in the Australian Mathematics Competition.

In English he pushes students to build a clear line of argument and analyse evidence closely instead of leaning on prepared responses. He pushes for analytical rigour and clarity of argument and expression in students' answers.
